It is truly magnificent even from a distant. The totally black colour gives the castle the mysterious looks. The ground surrounding the castle has been historically preserved with marking on the ground to indicate the houses and buildings within the castle wall. Entrances are 400 yen per person. The castle has 6 floors. You start from the top and make your way down. As you walk down each floor, it tells the story of the castle from the conception passing through many lords and battles.

Beautiful place. Very friendly staff that speak English very well. It cost ¥400 per adult. There are many things to view inside. There is a café on the second floor. There are also beautiful views of the river through the windows of the fifth floor.

For 400 yen you can do the quick tour of the castle. It is not as big as the Osaka castle. But the view is beautiful, you learn about the important battle that took place here. The staff are friendly and helpful. And for around 780¥ you can get a ticket for the castle and the Korakuen garden.( I hope I spelled that correctly) . Highly recommend getting this combo ticket. A must visit if you are in Okayama.

A very nice castle and surrounded grounds. Buy the park and castle combo ticket for a discount and no wait at the next attraction. I went to the park after and skipped the ticket line which was not long anyway. Top two floors are no accessible by elevator. Each floor has beautiful exhibits and there even a movie playing bit of course everything is in Japanese. Use the scan code for English on your own phone.
