After years of living in Jakarta finally I got a chance to visit this National Gallery. Love the old buildings! And the Arkiv Exhibition is pretty interesting too. Tickets can be obtained through Traveloka apps (more convenient imho).

been here a couple times, this time i went to see the temporary exhibition. easy access, interesting collections, overall a great place to visit if you’re interested in art. and i like that it’s open until 7pm so it’s still possible to visit after work. will definitely come back since it’s just a short walk from my current workplace.

Before buying ticket; you need to input your data; like: nationality, age, etc. I understand that they need customer data for their marketing purpose. But, it doesn't feel convenient for customers to fill the form in every visit. The guide said this place continuously change its gallery, which I think it's interesting. Since it keeps the place fresh and interesting. I like that there are more activities than just seeing the art; like: coloring the picture, stamp collecting and documentary watching. There's also slime art and painting, but I didn't try them. Maybe they're more like class? I'm not sure.... The guide here are very helpful. They explain the art and the concept behind it. There are also explanation on the wall. Since it's a gallery, the explanation is poetic. There were quite many people visit the place, but you can still enjoy the art and take pictures at ease They provide prayer room and toilet. I think prayer room is standard, but I didn't go to the toilet. Overall, I think it was a great experience.

I came here for the air conditioning, to be honest. But this ended up being one of the highlights of my visit! Excellent staff, amazing exhibits, well-organized, inexpensive entry fee. I would definitely come back here again. Highly recommend!
