I stumbled upon this place by accident when I sought refuge from the rain, and I’m so glad I did! The entrance fee is just 100 baht, but my elderly parents could enter for free, which was a nice bonus. The museum itself is fascinating, with a wide range of exhibits showcasing Thailand’s history, culture, and modern-day life. From traditional costumes and food to vehicles and classrooms, there’s a lot to explore. They even have interactive games about Thailand, which are both fun and engaging. With so much to see and experience, it’s definitely worth the visit—and it's not too far from the palaces. Highly recommended!

Museum Siam is an absolute gem and was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Bangkok. To begin with, one of the best surprises was the free kids' play area they offer..... a space where you can register and safely leave your kids while you explore the museum. As parents traveling with young ones, this thoughtful offering was a game changer. Our boys (6 and 5 years old) had a great time playing while we took our time exploring. We also opted for the audio guide, which was extremely helpful in providing context and detailed explanations as we moved through the exhibits. The museum is informative, interactive, and very engaging, offering a deep dive into how Thai culture evolved, and how its roots trace back to Indian Hindu culture. The exhibits explaining the architecture of temples and the symbolism of Garuda were particularly fascinating. Having seen Garuda idols across the city, learning about their spiritual and cultural significance truly enriched our experience. A heartwarming moment came at the end of our visit when our kids came running toward us, their playtime had ended as it was lunch break, and the caretakers sweetly found us inside to return the kids. It was such an authentic gesture that reflected the warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Overall, Museum Siam is a must-visit for anyone curious about culture and history. Whether you're a family, a history buff, or just someone looking to explore something meaningful and immersive...this place is well worth your time.

This is the best museum I've ever visited. Great presentation. There are staffs at every corner. If you want to know/ understand Thai culture, this is the place you shouldn't miss. There are many cool souvenirs at the shop.

Absolutely magnificent. Enjoyable for both kids and adults alike! Most, if not all of the displays are interactive, so even those who get bored in museums are intrigued. I brought my senior parents and auntie to the museum with me, and although they don't like museums or anything "artsy" they really enjoyed touring around the museum. All the exhibits were so fun to look at and go through! The staff are also very friendly and they all speak english. Seniors can enter for free.

The museum is located in a 3-storey beige building. Very convenient location you can find it once you exit Sanam Chai Metro Station. The museum is not big and you'll probably finish going over all the exhibitions in 1-1.5 hours at a leisurely pace. First floor is the ticket office and bookshop. The price is 100 baht for adults and 50 baht for students and seniors. Once you make the payment, you can borrow an audio set to play the commentary for each exhibition section. Languages are Thai, Japanese, Chinese, English, and a few other languages. The audio commentary is very helpful in giving information on each exhibition. The exhibitions are on the second and third floors. There are 14 separate sections with individual themes eg. Thai beliefs, Thai traditions, Taste of Thai. The exhibition in the third room is actually a show with scheduled times. The staff nearby is very helpful and will tell visitors when the show is about to start so that you can head there. The show lasts about 10-15 minutes and provides very fascinating storytelling about the history of Thailand from the past to the present. You should not miss this amazing show. This is a good place to visit if you like history and are interested in knowing 'What is Thainess'?
