You will find the Museum of Taipa and Coloane History along Rua Correia da Silva in Taipa Village. It is open from 10am to 6pm and entry is free. The museum is located within the teal-coloured Portuguese style building that was used for local administration and dates back to the 1920s. There are seven exhibition galleries which span through local history including archaeological digs and evidence of habitation dating back to the Neolithic period, pre-colonial history, the introduction of the Portuguese, early Portuguese building excavations under the museum, local fishing and important firecracker industries of late 19th as well as 20th century administration and integration of Taipa and Coloane with the peninsula and how this area formally became part of Macau. Overall, this is a good little museum that is worth time to visit if you are interested in local history. Some galleries have more to see than others. Allow a few minutes for each, more for those which you find particularly interesting. Photo taking within the museum is allowed these days.

Don't have to buy tickets, just walk in and explore Abit more about the history of Macau. Very quiet, free from the bustling crowd outside. There's 2 level of exhibition so you can take about 30mins to explore the place. Drinks and food are not allowed into the museum.

A nice place for travelers who like learning something new, especially the history and culture of the place you're in. You can learn the history and transition of living styles in Macau since the discovery and development of there with pictures, videos, real stuff, and even 3D figures. Also provides fully detailed explanations of the exhibits in 3 languages; English, Portuguese, and Chinese(traditional). There is a vending machine that sells souvenirs and a stamp zone where you can leave some exclusive stamps on the papers you have. Understandably, chairs, air conditioners, and accessibility are served. I recommend this place, and the admission is free of charge. Registration is unnecessary, you just go inside right after arrival.

A place to educate myself of the city of macau. It is always fun to visit the local museum. I'm not one of those who would read every single item in a museum to get the most out of it. I would read the items that caught my attention and learn more about those. Do I miss out stuff? Yes, do I regret that? not really. It's not like I'll remember everything I read anyway.

I learnt a lot about the island history from this museum. This should be the first stop for anyone who visit this city doe the first time. It was pretty empty the day I went so I could really enjoy reading and studying everything on display.
