Super cool place! It's interesting how geology museums everywhere all smell the same: the scholarly book smell. Also, it's free to come in and see things! Very interesting geological map of Vietnam and so many minerals to look at. Worth a visit if you're just walking around, and there's a jeweler next door that makes stuff, so stop in to see some nifty things.
Opening time: office hours only. Entrance fee: free. Personal experience: the showroom is a bit small. But the number of items is quite numerous. There weren't any tour guides but the information on display was quite ok. There are QR codes with information embedded inside. You can use any smartphone to scan and read. You can learn quite a lot about earth history here. There are three floors full of items. Be sure to visit not only the first floor but the second and third floor as well. In general, it's worth visiting even if you aren't majoring in geology or archeology.
A nice hidden gem right next to the more crowded Sai Gon Zoo. It is free to visit and they have really cool sanples of minerals. Sadly, the place is a bit run-down but it adds to the charm
Amazing museum. It’s actually covers the history of Vietnam. You progress through chronologically, with narratives written on the wall for each period.
Free admission. Plenty of interesting displays covering various geological topics. However, the museum could benefit from more interpretive information to help visitors better understand what they’re looking at.
