I felt serene but also dizzy. Not sure if its because I felt connected to Mazu as my name also means Lady of the sea or because of the incense. Either way, it was beautiful experience.

One of the first attractions you can see if your ferry's docking at Cijin Station. It's a nice place for picture-taking. Getting inside is also allowed.

A local significant temple; with beautiful structures. Once landed at the pier, this is within walking distance. So spend some time to admire the hand crafted structures and figurines adorning the building.

Nestled in the heart of Cijin District, Kaohsiung, the Cijin Tianhou Temple stands as a venerable testament to Taiwan’s rich maritime heritage. Established in 1673, it is the oldest temple in Kaohsiung dedicated to Mazu, the revered Goddess of the Sea and protector of fishermen. The temple’s origins trace back to the late 17th century when Fujianese fishermen settled in the area, bringing with them the worship of Mazu. Over the centuries, the temple has undergone several restorations, notably in the 1920s, preserving its historical essence while accommodating the evolving needs of its devotees.
