great selections of souvenirs, and SUPER FRIENDLY vendors here. long story short, i accidentally burnt my finger while eating the seafood on qijing street, so i was holding a ice bag while browsing in this market. One stranger aunty saw me, and asked if i was hurt? I nodded, and she grabbed my hand and stormed to another vendor who sold chinese medicine and asked for this mint paste and applied to my finger. It was definitely a touching and unforgettable memory
Lots and lots of dried seafood to be purchased. If anything, PLEASE always negotiate for better price. Vendor was very willing to price down their product when I was there. Also, there is a communal weighing scale to ensure the stall vendors does not cheat on the weight of the product. Very interesting.
It's a long shaded alley with several bathrooms. There are many shops, but they pretty much sell the same items. Dried fish, squids, etc. There may be a handful of shops that sell different items, but they are few. The sellers are nice people. They will give you samples to taste and you buy the ones you like. Sample them all without any issues. Sample items from the beginning of the market to the end of the market. We tasted so many samples all around and managed to buy four items. It was a fun and delicious experience.
Heaven for dried local seafood. Almost every store sells the same/similar products. Don't have to walk the whole lot unless you wanted to stay away from the weather.
Nice place on cijin island. Good food , especially seafood as it is by the seaside
