Zermatt, Switzerland
Most beautiful mountain ever, and very easy to climb!
This is my first 4000! Not too difficult to climb from Cervinia but glacier equipment required, watch skiers in first part of road and take also mountain guide with you. Beautiful views to Swiss and Italian side - good weather required :)
Easy and very safe to climb and can enjoy amazing and unforgettable views from the top. If you don't have experience with using crampons, need to go with a guide.
As for many others here: that was my first 4k mountaineering)) Safe & quite easy climb: around 1,5h way to the top from Klein Matterhorn cable car station. Good place to start your alpine journey: to discover glacier climbing, harness & crampon usage etc Perfect for both beginners and to acclimatise before more difficult climbings Guide + Crampons, ice axe and other equipment still a must! Today there were several crevasses: you shouldn’t underestimate this either
Quite good easy mountain to do as climatising or as practice. Start early to avoid the crowds. The first parts are over a ski slope so watch out for ski people. If you reach the top, go to the ridge for nice views and spectacular slopes. These routes are PD Crampons and ropes are recommended.
