Such a fun experience. We attended a cooking class, where you cook four different dishes. It starts with an overall explanation about Thai cuisine, what you'll be doing, how you'll be cooking, and a demonstration by an employee. You then cook all four dishes, they hold on to the dishes, and you eat your own creations in the end. They help by allowing substitutions in some instances (and/or allow you to control how much spice you may or may not like), but I preferred to do everything as the directions stated, so that I could eat as the locals did. In the end, they allow you to keep the recipes, an apron, and a packet of the curry to bring home. A great experience and would absolutely recommend.
As part of our tour of Bangkok, my wife and I went to the Blue Elephant Cooking school. Our group went with one cook Krishna to a local market to go over the various spices and vegetables for cooking. We returned to a classroom and each of four recipes were demonstrated. After each was shown, we then went into a separate kitchen where the needed items were measured and ready for us to cook. Our completed dishes were put in dishes with our number. We then went on to the next dish. When we completed our dishes, we then went into a dining room to eat what we had made. This was quite enjoyable, and the cooks had a good sense of humor and spoke excellent English. A worthwhile experience.
The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic Thai flavors and beautiful presentation. The restaurant has a charming, elegant atmosphere, and the service was attentive and friendly. A perfect place for a memorable Thai dining experience. Highly recommended!
I had the pleasure of dining at Blue Elephant in Bangkok, and the experience was truly outstanding. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable—warm, attentive, and professional, with staff who clearly take pride in what they do. Their knowledge and passion for Thai cuisine added a special touch to the evening. I chose the Heritage Menu, which was a beautiful journey through traditional Thai flavors with a refined and modern twist. Every dish was perfectly executed, both in presentation and taste, with a thoughtful progression of flavors throughout the meal. What truly elevated the experience was the wine pairing, with a different wine served for each course. The pairings were thoughtful and often surprising, enhancing the complexity of each dish and making the overall experience even more memorable. In short, Blue Elephant is more than just a meal—it’s a culinary experience. If you're looking for a taste of Thailand's rich culinary heritage served with top-notch service, this place is a must.
