What is the Swiss Travel Pass?

The Swiss Travel Pass is a ticket that lets you travel across Switzerland to visit over 41 cities, have free entrance to more than 500 museums, discounted city tours and access to private and scenic trains with a pre-requisite seat reservation. By travelling on this travel pass, visitors get to enjoy unlimited access by public train, bus and boat to visit mountains and lakes!

When can I use the Swiss Travel Pass?

If you're still thinking of packing up and flying to Switzerland, you'll be glad to know that the Swiss Travel Pass is valid for 11 months within the date of purchase. This means that you can plan your trip to the beautiful country in the future! You can get the pass in two types; Continuous and Flexi and you can choose your length of travel from three to 15 days. The Continuous Pass lets you have unlimited rail travel for those who want to travel every day during their stay. Meanwhile, the Flexi Pass is valid for a specific number of days and can be used consecutively or non-consecutively within a more extended period. The Flexi Pass is suitable for those who wish to travel only on certain days during their stay in Switzerland.

Am I eligible for the Swiss Travel Pass?

Switzerland is open to fully vaccinated travellers from these countries. If you are an eligible traveller visiting from a country without variants of concern, you are able to visit Switzerland without any quarantine requirement. If you are above 26 years old, you may purchase the adult Swiss Travel Pass, or the youth Swiss Travel Pass if you are between 16 and 25 years old. The Swiss travel system also offers the Swiss family card. This card provides free travel for children under 16 years when travelling with at least one parent.

What happens when I am unable to use my Swiss Travel Pass?

The Swiss Travel Pass can be cancelled free of charge until two working days (Monday-Friday) prior to the first date of validity. After that, a 15% penalty applies to completely unused passes. Once the pass has been cancelled, the passenger will not be able to use it.

What can I do in Switzerland with the Swiss Travel Pass? 

The Swiss Travel Pass lets you travel on the trains operated by SBB (Schweizerische BundesBahn), the national railway company of Switzerland without any prior bookings. Exceptions are the special scenic trains such as Bernina Express, Glacier Express, Golden Pass and Wilhelm Tell Express. For mountain excursions, you can get up to 50% off for various excursions and pay in one go!
