350 Bourke St, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia
The building is gorgeous, although the H&M signage and fake greenery does it no favours. Also the interior, when it was still the actual GPO, was beautifully painted in period colours and now it's all just white ?. The best of the GPO building now is Postal Lane and it's restaurants. Great eating but also a lovely Lane to walk through to Little Bourke St, with lots of little historic details retained, including the scrapes on the walls from cars!
Extremely beautiful building inside out. One of the biggest H&M outlet i have been too
Use to get stamps, send packages and buy commemorative stamps here. I didn't realize that this grand old dame had a big makover. Still pretty as ever with her quarterly hour and hourly notes still chiming.
The General Post Office (GPO) in Melbourne on the corner of Bourke street mall & Elizabeth st. Built between 1861-1907, this historical general post office is still used as a point of reference for the measure of distances from the centre of Melbourne. A beautiful place to take photos & or just to sit & listen to the street musicians.
The property is quite delightful, and I find the location quite appealing. The architectural design of the building is quite appealing and tastefully designed.
