That is a good market place and can see that there is a very good supply of all kinds of products to Jaffna. Even some latest products you see in Colombo Fort and Pettah, you immediately see them here, also. However, prices are little bit high than Colombo. Nevertheless, there is a terrible problem with parking. Parking becomes a problem when you travel by your own vehicle.

Loved the hustle and the bustle at this market that has all sort of goods including vegetables and fruit - including Jackfruit. Vendors are not too pushy and do take "No" for an answer. Be careful when you cross roads around the market area as the traffic can be heav5and can come at you from unexpected directions!

Jaffna Market offers a wide variety of local foods and sweets unique to the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. Fresh fruits, especially mangoes, are particularly popular here. The market stays open until around 10 PM, making it convenient for visitors to purchase authentic local items

All kind of tropical fruits and vegetables available here. Fantastic experience! Best place for fresh vegetables and fruits!

Must visit place in Jaffna; especially for visitors from other parts of the country. Variety of items are available, including sarees, garments, food items and handicrafts. Jaffna curry powder and other authentic items can be found. Parking is a problem. Not very clean though.
