Just a few weeks ago, it was announced that the iconic Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar in Singapore would be cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Besides that, other smaller bazaars and large-scale events have also been cancelled or postponed as the fight against the virus continues.

While Ramadan and Raya won't be as festive this year, the good news is that you can still enjoy Ramadan bazaar goodies and yummy treats from the comfort of your own homes!

P.S. Ordering food for your meals at home? Check out these 16 halal restaurants in Singapore which deliver!

With 2 online flea markets and 1 online bazaar happening throughout April and May, you can still soak in the Ramadan spirit at home. Look out for Twilight Online, Virtual CelebFest and eBazaar.sg which are organised by Adi Media and Avana. Instead of the usual bazaar where you'd physically head down to different stalls, let your favourite brands come to you instead. How it works is that these shops will be consolidated on a single platform - from a variety of food, festive decorations and Raya clothes and cookies ? Yay for technology!

The popular Twilight: Flea & Feast and CelebFest flea markets might have been postponed to September and August respectively but rest assured, you can still experience the same shopping experience online. Twilight Online will be happening from 6-19 April 2020 while Virtual CelebFest will be from 23 April-15 May 2020. While Twilight Online is happening before Ramadan, it'll be perfect for you to get a headstart on your Raya planning. Right now, there isn't much info on the stall vendors yet but you can expect their regular merchants to be on the online platform. Do keep a lookout for any updates on their website and social media pages!

If you're looking to buy some Raya kuih, clothes and all things related to Ramadan bazaars, then you'll want to shop at eBazaar.sg! Happening from 23 April-15 May, this eBazaar is mostly for merchants whose business have been affected by the cancellation of Ramadan bazaars. Currently, they are still in the process of getting more merchants but we're hoping that we'll get to savour our favourite Ramadan treats like dendeng, Ramly burgers or apam balik at home ? We're also super excited at the prospect of ordering our Raya kuih online! Nutella tarts or tapak kuda, anyone?

Even though Ramadan bazaars are cancelled this year, it's heartening to know that online platforms are stepping up to provide the same Ramadan experience. While we can't change the fact that Ramadan and Raya this year will most likely be a low-key affair, we can still make the best out of the situation ? As you spend Ramadan this year at home with your family, it's also a great way to support our local businesses by ordering your Raya treats and essentials online!
