It is a beautiful mosque in Thonburi, which was built in the Ayutthaya Kingdom era during the reign of King Narai in 1688 by Chao Phraya Ratchawangsanseni (Mahmud). It is regarded as the oldest mosque in Bangkok and Thailand. In the office of the Ton Son Mosque, you can see the old Ottoman Empire coat of arms relief on wooden background. The office is on the other side of the road and you need to 50-100 meters to go there.

If you're visiting Wat Arun, don't miss this nearby mosque, just a 7-minute walk under the bridge. I had the chance to pray Zohar here, and Alhumdulillah, the environment both inside and outside the masjid was very peaceful. This mosque holds historical significance as well and offers separate arrangements for female prayers. It's a great place to take a quick break from the touristic atmosphere of Wat Arun. The mosque is nice and clean, and only a 10-minute walk from Wat Arun. I attended Friday prayer here, and it's especially convenient for Muslim travelers wanting to pray after their visit to Wat Arun.

Ton Son Mosque in Bangkok, one of Thailand's oldest mosques, is undergoing renovations, limiting access to the main prayer hall. Despite this, alternative spaces are provided for worshippers to perform prayers. While the construction may cause minor disruptions, the mosque retains its peaceful and historic charm. These renovations aim to preserve its heritage and improve facilities, ensuring a better experience for future visitors.

A beautiful mosque with a rich history, being one of the oldest in Bangkok. The architecture is stunning, both inside and out, and the place is very clean and well-maintained. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. The imam was incredibly kind and hospitable. He gave me a short tour and explained some of the mosque’s history. I was also able to fulfill some of my zakat obligations here. If you’re visiting Bangkok as a (Muslim) traveler, I highly recommend coming here for Friday prayer. A truly special place.
