This is an architecturally beautiful building and is stunning to walk around. The mosque offers free guided tours (I think this is the only way you can walk around). The tour can be what you want it to be, long/short, just for photos etc. We were interested in everything; the building, the religion, philosophy and our guide, Abdul Rahman, was amazing. He stayed with us long over the 40 minute allotted tour time and we spoke about lots of things - he was patient and kind and genuinely thought about his answers before discussing with us. He’s a credit to the volunteer program and I feel so lucky that we were able to have him for our tour. We were the only ones and it was so personal and he was happy to answer any and all questions we had. We ended up having quite deep and meaningful discussions. The peaceful surroundings make it an ideal place for prayer, reflection, or simply admiring its breathtaking design. The main prayer hall is awe-inspiring, with high ceilings and a beautifully crafted mihrab that draws the eye. Despite its grandeur, the mosque is welcoming to everyone. Non-Muslim visitors can join guided tours to learn about its history and Islamic traditions, with robes provided for appropriate attire. The experience is both educational and deeply spiritual, making it a must-visit landmark in Kuala Lumpur. Having prayed here many times, my recent visit for Ramadan Tarawih prayer felt particularly special. The Quranic recitation filled the vast hall, creating a deeply moving experience. Even with a large congregation, everything was well-organized, from seating arrangements to ablution facilities. The sense of devotion and community made the night truly unforgettable. Whether for daily prayers, special occasions, or cultural exploration, Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan offers an experience that lingers long after you leave. It is a place where faith, history, and beauty come together in perfect harmony.

This is a beautiful and large mosque with a huge prayer space and court yard. It should be on your list of places to visit. It's around a 15 mins drive from the centre of KL. Plenty of spots to take pics. Make sure you have the appropriate attire when visiting the mosque.

truly love the Ottoman-inspired architecture of Masjid Wilayah, the grand domes, elegant arches, and detailed tile work give it a majestic and serene ambiance. easily one of the most beautiful mosques in Malaysia in terms of design. however, i did find it a bit inconvenient that the washroom and ablution areas are quite far from the main prayer hall. it can be tiring, especially for the elderly (mind u i clocked 10155 steps for spending the whole day here ?) on a positive note, appreciated that there are water dispensers placed at several spots, which is really convenient, especially in the heat. overall, a beautiful mosque with thoughtful amenities, though the layout could be improved for easier access.

This mosque is beautiful and I would definitely recommend going there when visiting Kuala Lumpur! There is a dress code for women, but don’t worry because they will provide you with a free headscarf and also a dress. They smelled like clean laundry, which was really appreciated. Then you have to get rid of your shoes and dedicated people will give you a free guided tour of the whole mosque! Our guide was named Ezri, and I’d like to thank him for the time he took to teach us so many things about the mosque and its religion. He was really kind, and nice to talk to! He proposed to take pictures for us, and a good point about the visit was that it wasn’t overcrowded at all (unlike Abu Dhabi’s mosque for example). The whole mosque was really calm and quiet, which made the place really peaceful. At the end of the tour, Ezri gave us free bottles of water, and we really appreciated that considering the hot weather. Ezri also makes sure to give us a little books about the Islamic’s culture at the end of the tour. We loved how dedicated he was, thanks again! ??
