With the rising number of daily covid-19 community cases in Singapore and the need for us to stay cautious, going out might be difficult! The best way to stay safe might just be to stay away from crowds, or meet our loved ones in outdoor settings. So why not do both? To prevent the spread while still being able to enjoy ourselves, HHWT has compiled a list of quiet, outdoor areas for us to chill while staying away from large amounts of people!

1. Pulau Ubin

Rent a bicycle on the island and explore bits of Singapore's heritage on Pulau Ubin! Once you've wandered away from the crowd of the main jetty, you'll pretty much be alone ? Visit Chek Jawa to discover natural marine beauties, or head to the Sensory Trail to explore Pulau Ubin's very own garden plantation.

2. Jurong Lake Gardens

Jurong Lake Gardens is one of the most picturesque spots for an outdoor hike in Singapore! With scenic landscapes and panoramic views, the garden is a breath of fresh air for anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors away from the crowd. The best part? There is plenty to do at Jurong Lake Gardens!

It's home to ABC Waters, at Jurong Lake, which is also Singapore's largest man-made floating wetlands! And if you're always on the lookout for scenic boardwalks in Singapore, this is definitely the place you need to visit next ?

3. Yishun Dam & Rower's Bay

4. Tampines Eco Green

At the edge of Tampines just before Pasir Ris lies a quiet park called Tampines Eco Green. With an almost natural landscape, a little pond filled with fishes and terrapins and scenic views, Tampines Eco Green is just the place for anyone who wants to get a breath of fresh air away from the crowd. They've got hiking trails within the park for anyone who wants to go for a calm walk in the afternoon or enjoy nature.

As an eco-friendly park that acts as a sanctuary for flora and fauna, it's got open grasslands, freshwater wetlands and a secondary rainforest. This park is a haven for visitors who want to get the best of nature in the middle of a concrete jungle. If you're observant, you might even catch some feathery friends! Water hens and ducks love dipping their beaks in the pond there.

5. Upper Seletar Reservoir Park

You might have heard of MacRitchie Reservoir but did you know that there are 3 other reservoirs in Singapore's nature reserves? Upper Seletar Reservoir Park, together with Upper and Lower Peirce Reservoirs, make up the other 3 reservoirs! The 15-hectare park is located off Mandai Road near the Yishun housing estate. Fun fact: the reservoir also connects to the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari!

Even though Upper Seletar Reservoir Park is located in central Singapore, it feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
