1. Avani Kota Kinabalu

Situated at the heart of Kota Kinabalu, Avani announced its arrival in Luyang in the fourth quarter of 2023. The hotel’s sleek design rises above the retail mall with 378 guest rooms located on floors 12 to 37, offering guests unobstructed views of Kota Kinabalu and the South China Sea. Perched next to two luxury condominium towers together, Avani Kota Kinabalu is set to become an integral part of an iconic architectural landmark on the cityscape. Apart from an all-day dining restaurant, gym, infinity pool, rooftop bar and viewing deck, among others, a major highlight of the hotel is a cigar lounge for guests to wind down after a day of huffing and puffing.

2. DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort

Nestled in a lush tropical forest on Pangkor Island, DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort overlooks the Straits of Malacca. Set to open in March 2023, the resort is currently undergoing a transformative renovation, which will see the tired property rejuvenated to meet Hilton’s lofty standards. The 291-room resort will offer guests a wide range of leisurely activities thanks to its 18-hole golf course and its proximity to a turtle hatchery. Families with young kids can enjoy the mini water park to their hearts’ content. Don’t worry about the long-distance drive! The West Coast Expressway, which is set to complete in 2024, will significantly shorten the distance between Kuala Lumpur and Lumut.

3. Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Bangsar

Bangsar, one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Kuala Lumpur will add another international hotel chain to its list. The Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Bangsar is located in the bustling artery of Jalan Maarof and is only a stone’s throw away from the Bangsar LRT station. The 220-room hotel will incorporate the Holiday Inn Open Lobby concept, combining public facilities into a cohesive and conducive space. The hotel will also be equipped with an outdoor swimming pool.

4. Hotel Indigo on the Park Kuala Lumpur

A boutique brand under the IHG banner, Hotel Indigo will debut a new 180-room concept a stone’s throw away from the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. Travellers can expect touches encapsulating the local culture while staying true to the ethos of modern luxury, marking a pleasant departure from the customary hotel chain experience. Sustainability is key and the hotel aces this aspect by implementing rainwater harvesting, an interactive green wall and renewal energy throughout.

A function room, flexible event space, outdoor rooftop pool, gym and work area will also be available for business and leisure travellers. Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park is located within walking distance of the main financial district, shopping at KLCC and Pavilion Mall, and a wide array of dining choices including Jalan Alor and Petaling Street, with their endless rows of hawker stalls. The neighbourhood is steeped in historical charm with heritage buildings and bounded by strips of hip restaurants along the Changkat and Chinatown areas.

5. Kimpton Kuala Lumpur

Another luxury hotel brought to you by IHG, Malaysia’s first-ever Kimpton is set to open its doors at The Exchange TRX. While details about the list of tenants who will be welcoming shoppers at the Lifestyle Quarter are scant, we already know Kimpton Kuala Lumpur will house 471 rooms that are equipped with a youthful yet sophisticated design-forwardness integral to the brand. The property will feature three food and beverage outlets including a rooftop bar and restaurant, and a deli-grocer café.

6. The Nautilus Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, Langkawi

The Nautilus Resort is expected to open in 2023 with 250 rooms in the picturesque island getaway of Langkawi, marking Hilton’s debut in the destination. Neighboured by numerous resorts lining Pantai Cenang, the Nautilus Resort marks the first time Hilton is introducing the Curio Collection into the country. Architecturally evocative of a cruise ship, the resort boasts 250 rooms, and three food and beverage outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant and a rooftop bar.

7. Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur Bukit Jalil

Malaysia’s first Hyatt Place hotel is expected to open in mid-2023 and will be the first internationally branded hotel in the capital city’s Bukit Jalil affluent suburb. The 250-room Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur Bukit Jalil will be connected to the Pavilion Bukit Jalil Mall, perfect for your shopping needs! The hotel will also offer a wide range of facilities, such as an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge and bar, rooftop bar and pool, gym, yoga studio, and event spaces.
