With Ramadan fast approaching, it's the time of the year when everyone comes together to enjoy great food at the Ramadan bazaars! We recently explored the Kampong Gelam Ramadan Bazaar which is the largest bazaar Kampung Gelam has ever held to this date ? But of course, what everyone is most looking forward to is the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar, which is open from 17 March to 21 April 2023. If you're thinking of heading down to try out the delicious array of bazaar food, here are 14 stalls you must try!

1. Happy Monkey - Burger Rack

Kickstart your bazaar finds with Happy Monkey's delicious Roti John! You can find a variety of Roti John flavours here, including their best-seller John Steakz. If you love spicy food, their Crazy Baby has just the right amount of spice to tickle your taste buds ? But, if you want to start slow, try their simple but tasty Anak Abu which comes with their homemade sambal for an extra kick ?

2. Satay Ummi - Satay Goreng

Craving for satay? Head to Satay Ummi! This stall specialises in pan fry satay that's undoubtedly delicious ? You can choose the flavour of your satay goreng including Chicken and Mutton. The satay comes with a good serving of their sweet peanut sauce. You'll definitely want more after each bite!

3. Three Missy - Tahu Bergedil

First started as a home-based company, Whiskdom is known for its big gooey cookies and oozing brownies. You may be familiar with their flavorful, thick Levain-style cookies and lava brownies, but the company has now expanded to include savory foods! ?

If you want to get a taste of their updated menu, head down to their stall in the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar! You can look forward to their famous brownies and cookies as well as fried Tater Tots that come with a dipping of your choice - truffle aioli or nacho cheese dip ? They also offer unique flavoured bagels like the Truffle Beef Steak, perfect for those who love truffle!

If you're feeling lethargic from the heat, a refreshing coconut shake from Just Coconut can help quench your thirst! The stall provides a variety of shake flavours, each with a creamy and filling taste ? For first-timers, you should get their popular Bandung Coco Shake or Mango Coconut Shake, but they also offer regular Coconut Shake. Prefer not to have a shake? Then opt for their fresh Coconut Juice! ?

You can also find Asian fusion fares such as Street Wok by Maktok's Kitchen! This stall serves a fusion of Vietnamese, Thailand, Indonesian, and Korean fares. You can look forward to their Bao Bun which is a Chinese-style gua bao stuffed with Korean fried chicken and sambal cockles ?

For those who love Vietnamese food, they offer classic Vietnamese Spring Rolls and delicious Bahn Mi ? Don't forget to try their Giant Begedil Bomz which is an extra large version of your favourite deep-fried potato cake!

7. Kakak DimSum - Chilli Crab Mantou & Fried Dimsums, Milo Pau

If you're looking for a quick bite, Kakak Dim Sum offers an array of Muslim-friendly yum cha options! You can choose to get their Dim Sum Goreng where you can select from a variety of fried dumplings and more.

You shouldn't miss out on their Salted Egg Fantasi, which is a dessert consisting of fried salted egg yolk bao topped with salted egg yolk sauce, vanilla ice cream, and a candy topping ? Another item you must get is their Milo Bom! This fried Milo bao is topped with chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream, and Milo powder. But of course, you can’t leave without trying their Chilli Crab Mantou, which is a delicious replica of our nation’s favourite seafood dish ?

You may be familiar with the famous Tokyo Banana and for those wanting to try it, Rainbow Works offers a halal alternative! This stall sells the popular Japan Banana that's actually pancake rolled to resemble a banana and is filled with Nutella, banana puree, or cheese.

Additionally, the vendor offers a selection of Thai-style sweets, ice creams, and coconut shakes, all of which are presented in gorgeous woven bowls or cups!

9. Charkoi - Dessert You Tian

Charkoi is another popular stall in Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar that you must try! They're most known for their flavour-filled you tiao, which comes in both savoury and sweet varieties. If you have a sweet tooth, you should opt for their sweet options including Milo Dino, Biscoff Caramel, and Nutella Oreo ?

Not a fan of sweets? Then their savoury selections such as the Spicy Tuna Mayo and Chicken Floss will be perfect for you! Besides you tiao, the stall also sells flavoured milk teas and other finger foods.

10. Bakes By NY - Donuts and Cakes

Started by ex-inmate, Kahriul Anwar, Bakes by Ny is a local donut bakery that specialises in flavoured donuts! While you can find their specialty during the bazaar, they will also be offering cheesecake with flavours including Basque Burnt Cheesecake and Lotus Biscoff!

11. Sofnade - Chendol Bucket

Getting thirsty from all that walking? You should stop by Sofnade! This stall offers buckets of Thai milk tea, air Katira, sparkling beverages, and even a huge chendol drink with sizes up to 3 litres!

You should definitely get the Chendol which has the right amount of coconut milk, gula melaka syrup, pandan, and shaved ice to help you beat the heat!

12. Loco Loco

Loco Loco has been around most local pasar malams and food festivals such as the recent Chatuchak Night Market. You'll be glad to know that their famous fusion churros and takoyaki will be available at the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar!

If you want something sweet, opt for their Churros, but if you want to be adventurous, their Ondeh Ondeh, which consists of pandan churros tossed in coconut sugar, is another good choice ? Don't leave without trying their takoyaki such as the Mentaiko Takoyaki!

13. Praffles

Praffles is another popular stall in the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar. If it's your first time, you should get their signature Chilli Crab Praffle, which is stuffed with crab meat, soft shell crab, and the stall's homemade chilli sauce.

Prefer not to have crab? Then opt for their Truffle Cheese Praffle which is made up of prata waffles stuffed with mozzarella and wrapped with popcorn chicken, chicken sausage, turkey bacon, and topped with truffle cheese sauce!

14. Krumbz N Kraves

If you love Korean corn dogs, you'll definitely love Krumbz N Kraves Taiwanese (and Korean) deep-fried street food. You can never go wrong with a corndog, so you should try their Mozza Cheesedog ?

Some other options you can get include the Taiwanese-style Shilin Chicken ($6), which is seasoned with salt, pepper, and chili powder, and Argentinian Squid ($10), which features deep-fried squid on a skewer ? You can also find a variety of mocktails including the refreshing Cuban Mojito, Blue Lagoon, and even Vietnamese Coffee!
