Thoroughly loved this museum. The interaction with the kids was great, having to the little scavenger hunts were great for us parents too. Seeing the amount of history throughout the museum was amazing. All the aircraft’s were mind blowing, the size of them in person is so different. I would definitely love to go back and do a guided tour without the kids as history really resonates with me and I could really spend so much longer thinking and looking at one thing. However loved doing with all family would love to take them back again too.

Highly recommended for everyone in the family. A beautiful free (donations are welcome) museum, filled with far more aircrafts than we initially expected. Lots to read and discover, displays were well put together and the pacing through the exhibits is perfect. If you need a break, there is a simple cafe, a lovely little gift shop and peaceful grounds. Wish we had more time to explore this past visit. We will have to set aside more time the next visit!

Mum joining her husband/son on a wet CHCH day … the best experience. Pay modest amount for guided tour which was well worth it. Really informative, ask questions & thoroughly enjoyable. All staff, mostly volunteers, are very welcoming. Thank you for opening my eyes in such a small amount of time … these men & woman went through so much. You won’t be disappointed in visiting. Huge place. Free

Whether you’re into aviation or just curious, this place is well worth the visit — and it’s free! Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and a real hidden gem in Christchurch.

Just so cool. I’m not a plane need yet it’s fascinating. Well laid out lots to see, photography encouraged. Guides super friendly. Options for a guided tour 1 hr for very reasonable charge. Needs to be promoted more
