This exceeded our expectations for sure There was something to enjoy for everyone, adults and kids alike. We did the $4pp chocolate tasting which lasted around 20 minutes, and it was such a great way to taste a sample of their offerings, including some unique flavours combinations. Their staff also provided a very informative overview of the chocolate making process and the origins of the beans. We also enjoyed a lovely coffee and Reuben sandwich at the cafe, with expansive views of rolling hills and vineyards. And of course, we bought some goodies to take home! Highly recommend stopping by or making a trip out here.
Visited the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie recently and honestly found it to be quite overhyped. While the place is set in a beautiful location and the staff were friendly and welcoming, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the buzz. The biggest letdown was the pricing — the chocolates are very expensive for what they are. While there’s a wide variety, the cost doesn’t feel justified by the quality or uniqueness. It felt more like you’re paying for the touristy experience rather than the chocolate itself. The place was also overcrowded, which made the experience feel rushed and chaotic. It was hard to enjoy browsing or even have a peaceful coffee. Overall, it’s a one-time visit kind of place — nice to check off the list, but not somewhere I’d rush back to. Definitely more about the hype than the chocolate
I almost fled walking past the teeming crowds & equal crowds inside today - that too past 2 pm! A queue waiting to be seated at the Cafe inside.. Being the end of a long weekend, this place is a stopover magnet or The destination I suspect. Hunger & need to use the loo dictated my longer stay. Cafe fare - lamb souvlaki is forgettable. No flavour except for copious sauce & fresh salad. But the views are scenic. QR code or order at counter. Staff were run off their feet with self service cutlery & napkins not replaced until asked. Plain water not available either. Ice creamery, wide variety of chocs, confectionery, free chocolates tasting area & clear window partitioned area to watch the chocs being made. Similar set up to the GOR chocolaterie but the added bonus here is the scenic location with wetlands & farm animals in enclosures to view. Definitely a Yarra Valley drawcard especially for tourists...er..rr maybe just not for me. I came here after visiting the historic Gulf Station 5 mins drive away.
Amazing scenery, huge chocolate shop and friendly staff service at the cafe. Toilets spacious and very clean. A lovely day out. Lots to see and buy, ice cream and chocolate are a delicious treat. Scones are huge as is the jam and cream serve. We couldn't finish that cream and jam between 2 adults!
