I cannot recommend Salies highly enough! Isam and Shazi created the most exquisite custom sapphire pendant for me. The experience was nothing short of incredible and it felt like I left their store not as a customer, but as a friend. From the moment I walked into Salies, Isam’s passion for gemology was evident. He spent hours patiently showing me different types of sapphires and explaining me everything about their purity, size, color - and how these factors influence their value. It was a masterclass in gemology, and I left with so much appreciation for the craft. After choosing my sapphire, Shazi brought my vision to life. Based on my descriptions, she sketched up the pendant’s design, adding her own creative flair while making sure every detail reflected what I had in mind. While I then travelled through Sri Lanka, we communicated over WhatsApp for a week to fine-tune the design and track the pendant’s progress in their workshop. When I came to pick it up, I ended up requesting a few last-minute alterations. Not only did they accommodate this request, but they also invited me to their workshop where I could see the entire crafting process in action! Watching their experienced team of jewelers bring my piece to life was an amazing and unforgettable experience. On top of their impeccable craftsmanship, Isam and Shazi's hospitality truly set them apart. They even treated me to some delicious mutton rolls (I'm still dreaming about them today.. :D) And when I realized I was cutting it close to make my flight, they went above and beyond, and personally drove me to the airport in Colombo. By the end of it, Isam and Shazi felt more like friends than jewelers. I genuinely hope to meet them again someday, whether in Sri Lanka or, if they happen to visit Germany, here in Berlin. The sapphire pendant they made isn’t just a beautiful piece of jewelry - it is also a wonderful reminder of that special Sri Lanka experience and of the two wonderful people I met there. Shazi and Isam, what to say, two wondeful and kind hearted people, made our srilankan trip and gem stone buying experience, an exceptional one with thier openness and hospitality. Shopping at Salies was truly a wonderful experience. Mr. Isam and his wife were incredibly kind and welcoming. As someone who doesn’t know much about gemstones, I really appreciated how patiently Mr. Isam explained everything to me in great detail. He never pressured me to buy, which made the experience even more comfortable and enjoyable. When I returned to Salies to make a purchase, Mr. Isam and his wife were already in their car, ready to go home. But the moment he saw me walk into the store, he immediately got out of the car and came back inside just to assist me. That level of dedication and customer care really impressed me. I ended up purchasing a blue sapphire ring, and I couldn’t be happier with it. The sapphire is of excellent quality—with clear clarity and vibrant color—and the craftsmanship of the ring is very neat and elegant. Do not look any further, you have found what you need if you are looking for the best possible jewelleries in Sri Lanka - and more! It is hard to find the words for my experience with Shazi and Isam as they went far beyond any of my wildest imagination delivering the perfect ring for the most special occasion in my life - proposing my partner. Deciding what ring to purchase for a proposal, especially when you visit a foreign country you've never been before... it could be particularly challenging... But since I contacted them from the UK via WhatsApp, until the moment they delivered the ring and then we visited them in the shop, everything they did was the most professional, supportive and friendly customer experience I had in my life. I know that I can be a perfectionist, and even though I knew nothing about jewelleries and gems, Shazi patiently guided me during the journey for a couple of months (I know!) before we found just the right shaped and coloured Sapphire and the design of the ring. They even personally delivered the ring to me as there were no other options to collect the ring in secret during our 2-week trip in Sri Lanka. They kept blowing my mind how nice these two were - truly out of this world! As the ring turned out slightly bigger, they even offered an extremely quick, 2-hour adjustment to it when we ended up in Colombo! There were even more jaw dropping things they have done for us, but as I wouldn't want that to be a standard expectation, I would rather let You to go through this experience that restored my faith in humanity. I can not wait to visit them again when we go back to Sri Lanka as we managed to become good friends during this unforgettable experience. P.S.: Just a tip, if you are that happy as we were, Shazi loves flowers (her favourite flower shop is Shiro Hana which we purchased her a wonderful bouquet by accident!), and I am sure Isam wouldn't mind some hoppers with sweet-spicy sambol either. ;)
