“This museum held the most beautiful art I saw in New Zealand north island. Better than the art gallery and still fully immersed in the roots and story of the culture and history of the Island. Larger than you would expect. About an hour needed to enjoy depending on interest. Not as engaging for children as other sites but there are some spaces for children to engage.” “How incredible to experience that NZ was able to have these amazing animals in different countries. It was a feeling of great adventure inside the museum. You will definitely feel your inner child vibes again!!! My favorite was the adorable penguins! And those stingrays too! Come and visit here and have fun!”

“Thoroughly loved this museum. The interaction with the kids was great, having to the little scavenger hunts were great for us parents too. Seeing the amount of history throughout the museum was amazing. All the aircraft’s were mind blowing, the size of them in person is so different. I would definitely love to go back and do a guided tour without the kids as history really resonates with me and I could really spend so much longer thinking and looking at one thing. However loved doing with all family would love to take them back again too.” “Highly recommended for everyone in the family. A beautiful free (donations are welcome) museum, filled with far more aircrafts than we initially expected. Lots to read and discover, displays were well put together and the pacing through the exhibits is perfect. If you need a break, there is a simple cafe, a lovely little gift shop and peaceful grounds. Wish we had more time to explore this past visit. We will have to set aside more time the next visit!”
