All the food was so delicious, amazing textures and flavours. Sweet and sour was a favourite and rendang also very good. Olive rice is a must have. Really enjoyable lunch.
Well flavoured and quality peranakan vegan food. Recommend the signature Xo fried rice, sweet and sour pork , nonya curry and sambal kangkong. Crispy cereal tofu and rendang was mid.
Even if you’re a meat-eater, go here. The food’s more delicious than most omnivore fare. Prices are reasonable, and you get a decent discount for ordering a set meal that’s more than enough food—we couldn’t finish it! I enjoyed the meal more than some tasting menus 4-5x the price. The beauty soup was savory and slightly sweet, maybe a bit too much umami, with a dozen ingredients like papaya, konnyaku, snow fungus, and jujube for fun variations on texture. The olive fried rice was impressively infused with wok hei and had a slightly chewy texture that can only come from using a jet burner. You MUST order some kind of fried rice here! It’s my platonic ideal of fried rice. Enchanted forest dressed hearty chunks of monkeyhead mushrooms with a goji berry and angelica sauce. Angelica might be an acquired taste due to its strong strong medicinal aroma, like something you’d put on bandages. Personally, it’s one of my favorite spices. The sambal king stir fry remains a mystery to me. How did they get that funk and aroma without using fermented shrimp? The vegetable medley was well-chosen with texture gradation from firm stinky beans to slimy okra. Eggplants were not mushy in the slightest bit. Loved it! Strong recommend. One of the best meals of the trip.
Dining at The Whole Earth in Singapore was an absolute delight. As someone who appreciates flavorful and thoughtfully prepared vegetarian food, this place exceeded all my expectations. It’s no surprise that it has received Michelin recognition—every detail, from the food to the service, is top-notch. The menu is incredibly diverse, offering a wide range of plant-based dishes that are inspired by Peranakan and Thai flavors. I especially loved the Penang Rendang, which was rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying—hard to believe it was completely meat-free. The Olive Rice and Assam Pedas were also standouts, packed with bold, complex flavors that made each bite memorable. Service was fast and attentive. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to make suggestions. Despite how busy the restaurant was, our food arrived promptly and everything was served hot and fresh. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming, perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. What impressed me the most was how The Whole Earth made vegetarian cuisine feel exciting and elevated, not like an afterthought. Whether you’re a vegetarian or just someone who enjoys good food, this restaurant is a must-visit in Singapore. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in town!
This restaurant deserves the Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation. All the dishes we ordered were superb. And yes, you truly won’t miss the meat here. We came in for lunch without a reservation and was lucky to grab a table for us 5. Especially recommend the XO fried rice, sweet & sour pork, crispy cereal tofu and rendang. Don’t miss out on their desserts coz they were equally delicious.
