The vegetarian is so nice and delicious. They write it clear that they did not serve the food with onion and garlic. As a vegetarian that did not eat onion or garlic, it is so difficult to find the restaurant that does not use that ingredients. The vegan eel and the soymeat cutlet are so delicious. Japanese food that is vegetarian but so delicious.

A vegan restaurant with a unique flavor of dishes. This cafe and restaurant serves a cuisine based on Taiwanese vegetarian cuisine (shojin ryori). Their soup is made by simmering more than 15 kinds of Chinese herbs for over two hours. They serve dumplings, hot pot or soy-cutlet in delicous variations. A wonderful & well priced menu.

Best food we ate in Kyoto. This was the best meal our group had, it was like being invited into a Japanese family’s house for an authentic and flavorful experience. We reached just 15 mins before closing time, yet they graciously kept serving us and taking our food orders. The food was so yummy we kept ordering second helpings. The owner also looked after our babies and played with them so we could eat in peace. I was so happy I came to this place. (The tofu chocolate gateau cake with goji berries and walnuts was out of the world)

We had such a great lunch here. We split the teishoku set meal and the soy meat cutlet bowl. A smoothie and chocolate cake for dessert were great too. Of all the vegan places we visited during our two weeks in Japan, none seemed more full of locals than here. When we arrived for lunch we got lucky to take the last available seat and then many who arrived afterwards had to wait outside. Definitely felt like a very authentic meal and would highly recommend it, despite the unfortunate anti-MMR vaccine signage in the bathroom.
