22 DUNLOP STREET, S20935
Dunlop will always hold a special place in my heart as this is the first ever outlet we went to almost 10 years ago. Celebrated a birthday here today and the place was empty so we received all the attention from Shai and his mom (I think?). Food portion has always been generous though sometimes could be a hit or miss but the customer service remains impeccable. Thank you for making the birthday’s today a little more special!
Recommended by my colleague, we went there for department farewell dinner. It was complementary all the way ?. Wings and one cake was on the house. Location is nice as near to MRT. Food portion is quite big and food quality is nice. A bit compact but cozy to hear each other. We order upfront and allowed to ask for less spicy. Definitely a nice halal restaurant to go to.
Reserved a last minute table for iftar and placed our orders earlier. Our table was prepped with dates when we arrived and we were served promptly and were attended to with such care by our server as there were only a few tables seated. Had a pleasant dinner with portions big enough to share between us. We also received complimentary wings from our server who even chased us after we left to hand us individual complimentary cakes for dessert, completely taking us by surprise. The cake slice was a generous size too. Definitely a positive experience at this outlet!
Such a cozy spot to grab a seriously good meal. Raziq bhai, our host, was super friendly and walked us through the menu with great suggestions. Here’s what we tried: TMC Ramsly Wagyu Burger – Big portion with crispy fries and a fresh salad. The patty looked juicy but was a tad dry for me. Still tasty. 4/5 Creamy Carbonara – Hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. Rich, silky, and full of flavor. Couldn’t stop eating. 5/5 Malayan Wings – Crispy, flavorful, and that chilli padi gave a fiery kick that hits just right. 4.5/5 Ondeh-Ondeh Cake – First time trying it and wow… soft, moist, sweet with that perfect coconut-gula melaka combo. And they served it on the house! 5/5 Overall: If you’re craving authentic halal Malay food that hits all the right notes—this place is a winner.
We’ve never had a disappointing meal at The Malayan Council, and this visit was no exception. Every dish we tried—salmon ravioli, Mac Kobe, Malayan wings and truffle fries—was absolutely delicious. The cherry on top was the warm and attentive service from Shai. Well done! We’ll definitely be back.
