135 Amoy Street, 01-02, Singapore 049964
This is a nice hole-in-the-wall eatery, so do not expect many seats. You may get one if you are lucky or if you come at any time other than the lunch rush-hour. But then, you will be lucky to get a seat anywhere during lunch hour. The rösti is crispy on the outside but moist on the inside. It is flavourful and nicely seasoned (we all know how bland potatoes can be). The crème-fraîche compliments the rosti and our choice of proteins. Mine was smoked salmon, and hubby’s was smoked Wagyu brisket and chicken herb sausage. The price is as expected for food sold in these parts of Singapore aka Amoy Street aka anywhere in the CBD. It is certainly more expensive than the ones you can find in the heartland and especially more than a plate of Char Kway Teow. Hence, it shouldn’t come as a surprise.
I ordered Rosti with Salmon as well as Cookie & Lemonade. If you are Rosti or potatoes person, you will like this place. Right smack in Far East Square near Raffles Place, this seems a popular eating place around the area as there were a few sitting patrons and many takeaways while I am here at about 6:30pm on a Thursday evening. The rosti potatoes and salmon were fresh. The rosti was fried just nice. I asked for extra sour cream which made it taste savory. The staff (Azin) was friendly and customer oriented. It was one-man show but he handled everything and everybody professionally. The lemonade was good too. Not too sour but still have the cheek sensation. I really like this place. Only lament is that it closes at 7pm. Thanks Azin from Rostii !!
The Rösti was quite good. I went in the evening, and the staff seemed tired but they took their time to make the food properly. The cheese and the tomato sauce were better than I expected. The only issue I have is with the ambience, the smoky smell lingers in the shop and a bunch of people were taking loudly just outside the shop. Suggest getting it fresh and eating it somewhere else nearby.
the beef gochujang was sold out, so we went with the smoked wagyu beef brisket and smoked salmon rösti instead. ordering & payment was done through a kiosk which made the process simple. like most modern restaurants, you collect your food when your number appears on the screen. the rösti was well done — crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. the sour cream paired nicely without being too heavy. the wagyu brisket was tender and easy to pull apart, with a smoky flavour that worked well with the thick barbecue sauce. it also came with a side of jalapeños, which added a nice kick. the smoked salmon was decent too, though it didn’t stand out as much in comparison. visited on a weekday evening and we were the only customers there at the time, but seating is limited -- would suggest taking away / ordering a delivery during peak meal hours. the interior had fairly loud music, so we chose to sit outside where it felt more relaxed. the weather was gloomy that evening, making outdoor seating comfortable, though it might get quite hot on a typical sunny day
Craving for rostii. And this is the place where u can get halal one. Rosti were great. Crispy on the outside, tender and well season on the inside. Wagyu brisket were perfect, juicy and fork tender. Highly recommended. Will definitely visit again!
