We had dinner here one evening in September. The place is nice, downstairs there is a chocolate shop where they break the cocoa bean for cocoa bar or chocolates praline. We bought the award winning Kyoto bar and it is fabulous. It's true that the price is high but we've never eaten something like this. Then we went upstairs and had a gluten-free and vegan falafel appetizer for dinner. I had never eaten them before because it was difficult to find gluten-free. They are so good! The vegan mayonnaise was fabulous. I ate the Indian dish with burger meat, mozzarella, curry cream and spices. Very good composition. My husband had the same dish but in a Japanese version. The price is right and the staff is friendly.
We popped in for the chocolate downstairs and ended up discovering the cafe/restaurant upstairs, so we came back the next day for lunch. We tried two of the burgers, the Dragon and the Kitchen Barbarian, with the latter of the two being outstanding! In fact, we loved it so much, we came back the same evening for dinner with a friend and had it again(!), along with the Golden Gym burger and the Kimchi and Capers pizza. Everything was delicious and vegan! Even the chocolate cake we had for dessert. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, the chocolate was exceptional (we tried the sake and sea salt versions), and I would definitely go again if I was in Kyoto for longer! Highly recommend!
I’ve been traveling around the world for the last 10 years this place is for sure one of the best vegan & gluten free restaurants I had the pleasure to go!! 100% recommended! A culinary experience of flavors with an amazing jazzy atmosphere!!
While travelling as a vegetarian with a meat lover it is always good to stumble upon places that can offer nice food to both. We were both pleasantly surprised by the very flavourful food. For me the best food so far after travelling for 2 weeks through Japan, also the best fries :). Very happy, recommend!
Went here for dinner last night and it was such a 'find'. The vegan options were tasty and nutritious and the portions were good too. The ginger ale was fresh. The ambiance was very nice. The server was cheerful. A lovely place to eat at.
