My husband and I were visiting Perth from other state, and we had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant in Northbridge. We ordered the restaurant's signature lamb rice, and the lamb meatballs, a recipe passed down from the founder, which I'm sure has only improved under the owner's touch. For dessert, we tried the Muhalabia, and it might just be the best pudding I've ever had in Perth! The moment I tasted the pudding, I couldn't help but close my eyes as the delicate floral aroma blossomed on my tongue—a gentle hint of jasmine, with the boldness of gardenia. We left feeling full and very satisfied. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Northbridge!
I’ve had various middle eastern food, but I’d never tried Saudi cuisine before, so I was very interested to experience it. Walking into Oriental Breeze, you feel like you’re stepping into George’s (the owner) home — his hospitality and kindness are second to none. We decided to start with the hommos, and then ordered the Kabsah with Chicken and the Okra with Lamb. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the rice was very delicious. It made me an impression that the Saudi cuisine is more bland than Lebanese, Syrian, or Egyptian, but I didn’t mind this. There was a really good hot chilli sauce at the table, which really complimented the dishes. The okra and lamb dish was really good. The lamb was cooked great and it melted in your mouth. George brought us some tea too, which was really light and a bit sweet - very different to the Jordanian tea I’ve had elsewhere. It was really pleasant. The knaffeh was very different to others I’ve had — I didn’t mind it, but I didn’t love it either — not because it isn’t good, it’s just personal preference. Overall, a very nice experience and a great introduction to Saudi food.
Me and my partner stopped in here for some dinner. I got the Lamb Shawarma and the Daood Basha. We also ordered some Turkish Coffee, and we were offered some complimentary tea as well which was very nice. We had a lovely chat with the owner George, who is a very nice man. Take care George, and best wishes
Food was absolutely amazing. It is an owner operated small restaurant. Ordered a Mutabal as an entreé, Kabash Lamb and Daoed Basha as mains and there are all on point ??. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!
Our first time at a Saudi restaurant, but definitely not the last! The dishes were unbelievably good, the spices and flavours in all of our meals were so rich and delicious. The hospitality is really amazing, the waitresses were so friendly and sweet. The owner/chef is clearly so passionate about his culture and food, which is probably why it tastes so good! Such a welcoming and funny owner, whilst working hard he still always had a big smile! Will definitely be back! 5/5!
