This place is great!!! I wish I was in Osaka for longer so I could come back! Bowls, salads, smoothies and baked goods are all flavorful, healthy and fresh. Baked goods aren’t too sweet and use healthy flours/sweeteners - loved the carrot cake and oatmeal cookie. It’s a casual cafe, you can just walk in, they’ll seat you and give a QR code to order. There’s a really nice outdoor seating area looking out on the water. They do takeaway too (not sure if everything is available takeaway, I just got a salad and baked goods to go). Service was very friendly and quick.
Vegan in Japan is almost impossible. So this amazing restaurant was like finding a needle in a haystack - 干し草の山の中の針. The fried soy meat is so incredibly delicious with a light tasty flavouring. The rāmen is rich and creamy with roasted vegetables on top. As for portion size - just right. The food is fresh and lively, colourful and enticing. Very welcoming and friendly. The serving size is perfect and priced very reasonably for the quality of the food. One of the best vegan restaurants I have ever eaten at - once in 2023 and three times in 2025. Strongly recommend. Very close to the metro station.
We tried the "Have a Good Day Plate", along with the avocado toast with gluten free bread. French toast, and Petit Gateau, also gluten free and dairy free. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were well-balanced. However, the Petit Gateau could have been slightly less baked to achieve that perfect melted chocolate center. Overall, a great spot for a delicious and visually appealing breakfast in Osaka with a lovely view.
We discovered here based on a recomendation from the Vegan Sushi in Kyoto who have a helpful list of their favourite vegan restaurants in Kyoto, Toyko and Osaka. Optimus Cafe did not dissapoint ?. Food was delicous, service was fast, and the view outside was lovely! Highly recommended to my fellow Vegan Allies in Japan ❤️?
The most delicious granola in Osaka, a balanced vegetarian lunch, moderately strong matcha latte, polite staff, a great view from the terrace. They cook quickly and with love, thanks to the staff of Optimus Cafe for a great start to the day! I recommend putting the QR code so that the table number is visible, so as not to confuse the waiters.
