I have always walked past this restaurant and finally decided to give it a try. I started with the raw octopus with wasabi, which was absolutely amazing! I also sampled the tail, liver, neck, and heart, all cooked to perfection. As part of the Kyomo group, this restaurant excels in quality control and consistency. Highly recommended!
Still as great as ever! The prices are reasonable, making it perfect for quick bites. The chicken gizzard skewers were delightfully crunchy, while the chicken wing skewers were packed with flavor. On top of that, their floor staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the enjoyable dining experience."
Summary: Top notch yakitori that'll run you a bit more than other places, but still totally worth it. A full-on chicken restaurant - no pork and just a bit of beef. Some of the best yakitori in town - grilled perfectly, nicely seasoned and without any trace of gaminess. They also have an eclectic menu including all kinds of drinking snacks (otsumami), fried chicken, (both karaage and an interesting chicken tempura), steamed rice with various ingredients (kamameshi), and some surprisingly excellent chicken-bone ramen. You won't be lacking for choice, and they're all quite excellent. Itsumo is mostly small booths separated by curtains so it's good for groups but not for a real izakaya atmosphere, except for one small section at the back where there is some common space. You'll also pay about at 20-30% premium over other nearby yakitori places, though I have no complaints about the price:quality ratio. Definitely worth trying, and my favorite izakaya in Desa Sri. I haven't even mentioned their insane 5 jim beam highballs/ carlsberg mugs for 50$ deal! best in town. Small increase in price to get Asahi beer or Suntory Highballs
Visited on new year's day. The cabins indoor were full so we sat outside, which was fine. Restaurant run by the same set of Michelin chefs as the noodle house next door. So, naturally some noodles and meats skewers, as this was a yakitori restaurant after all. The adults in our party were served to a small cup of complimentary sake each - what a nice touch! The takowasa, octopus with dissolved wasabi and diakon is an ultimate appetiser - a call-out at this joint. Sweet and salty chicken wings, skin and thighs were savoury good. The Torikotsu chicken broth ramen and spicy ramens were ok - i much prefer the more mellow and soulful pork bone broth versions tbh. The kids were challenged to a game each of jyanken - scissor, paper, stone and won! So free fruit juices for them and a complimentary game each from the gift box! Happy kids, happy parents!
Love the atmosphere there on a Friday night! It was very busy but all the waitresses are very attentive! Potato salad is really interesting - they fried the potato grates that adds on to the texture. yakitori is always good - wagyu is my least favourite of the night. Overall it was a great experience!
