I do not write many reviews but this restraint deserve more than 5 stars. Great food, best service . The food is even better than what we get in India. Love it, would love to come here again. Just want to highlight, it was raining heavily and we had a small baby. They even dropped us to our destination, such a kind gesture. It is mini India away from India
I had dinner at the restaurant, didn't stay there. Food was very good and price seemed reasonable. Only drawback was restaurant is in comparatively away from the station and main road so it was little dark during night but was safe. I ordered paneer lababdar and tandoori roti, it was good. Also tried their india village special that contained samosa, pakoda, papad, chili popper
We found this great Indian restaurant off the beaten path after walking the entire Höheweg. We were greeted by the host/owner. We chose four different dishes from the menu. All were delicious. Our family of five all agreed that this was truly one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve been to. We needed to get back to our hotel and the owner sensed that we were a little tired after a long day of adventures. The chef/owner offered to give us a ride!!! This couple sure knows how to delight their customers. A+ service.
Our family had been out sightseeing all day and were weary and hungry. My daughter found India Village online, and we decided to give it a try. We walked quite some distance to get there, and boy, was it worth it! Each dish was impeccably seasoned and clearly made to order. I especially loved the Butter Chicken (best I've ever had) and the Kadri Chicken. The service was equally as impressive. As we left, the owner/chef came out to say hello. After a brief conversation, he surprisingly offered to drive us to the train station across the river. That is something I've never been offered before, and if it weren't for being so tired from a long day and full from such a delicious meal, might have politely turned him down, but I couldn't resist. The chef ended up driving our family of five directly to our lodging. The lift was a great help and the visit with our cook in his van was thoroughly delightful. What a kind gesture. My only regret was not getting his name to thank him properly. I highly recommend enjoying a meal here!
We had an absolutely phenomenal experience at India Village Restaurant! The Indian food was authentic, flavorful, and easily some of the best we've ever had – every dish packed with depth and richness. The service was lightning fast and incredibly attentive, yet never intrusive. What truly set this place apart, though, was the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond in every possible way – it genuinely felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s home rather than just another restaurant. The location is idyllic – nestled near the river with breathtaking views of the Alps. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed yet unforgettable meal. And the cherry on top? They even dropped us off at our hotel afterward. That small gesture was just one of many that showed how committed they are to creating an exceptional experience. We were absolutely blown away. This isn’t just a restaurant – it’s an experience. A must-visit if you're anywhere nearby.
