71, Jalan Keris 1, Taman Sri Tebrau, 80050 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia
Staff ask you to wear a mask and provide a mask to wear, helpful way of running things. Went with the buffet in the morning. Lots of well prepared chinese vegan dishes to choose from. Good range of mock meats and vegetable dishes on offer. Food was amazing and tasted great. Coffee was strong and sweet, not my preference but coffee isn't optional for me. Fair easy location to walk to or there's parking right outside. Staff were friendly and the prices very reasonable.
My first stop in JB to start the day. They open at 0630hrs which makes it a fantastic breakfast option with the food still fresh from the wok. Dished are traditional with some good options to satisfy all vegans/vegetarians. Problem is that their coffee and tea are from instant pack and loaded with sugar. Otherwise I wish such restaurants remains to support the traditional “zichar” heritage of Malaysia.
5 Random Vegetables (No Rice, No Noodles) = RM10.00 No Service Charge For Strict Vegans, you'll be glad to know this place Does Not Serve Eggs. This is a Dedicated Vegetarian Eatery in the style of an Old Kopitiam located here in Taman Sri Tebrau that offers Vegetarian Food served Cai Fan Style where you can go ahead and Self-Service and take whatever you want and pay for what you take. The Google Reviews were right about this place. Wearing of Mask is Required when you are taking the Dishes. If you don't have a Mask though, they will gladly give you a Free One. I'm also quite impressed that the Eating Utensils are kept in a Seperate Heating Appliance to help with Disinfection. This is the First Time I'm seeing a JB Eatery do this. That said, this is only for the Metal Utensils though, not the Plastic Ones, but I still appreciate the effort done. The Food is pretty much Standard Tasting, Not Overly Salty although I do like their Bittergourd which is Slightly More Bitter than usual. Because I was there Early in the Morning, the Veggies were Fresh and Warm and they felt Very Nice in my Tummy and was a Great Way to Start the Day. The Staffs are Friendly, especially the Lady Boss as I saw her Patiently Explaining the Type of Dishes and Prices to a Customer who had Alot of Enquiries. Google Reviews for this place are generally not bad, although there are noticeably many Complaints about the Price being too Expensive. Personally, I thought 5 Random Vegetables with No Carbs for RM10.00 (S$2.90) did felt slightly more expensive when compared to "JB Vegetarian" that I reviewed previously in Jalan Wong Ah Fook which was 5 Random Veggies + 1 Egg for RM8.00 (S$2.30) But the reason for the Higher Price in this Eatery could be because of the Extra Cost they had to incur due to the Free Face Mask they provide to all Customers and also that Utensils Heating Appliance they have constantly running. They also own this Whole Place instead of just a Stall in a Kopitiam, so of course their Rental is probably much Higher in Comparison. Because of this Eatery's Effort on Hygiene and how Friendly and Patient the Staffs were, I am giving this place my Highest Top Score. This is also the First Vegetarian Eatery I've visited in JB so far that Does Not Serve Eggs. Excellent for Strict Vegans. Thanks for Reading. Very friendly and polite owners/staff. Feels like home. Food is reasonably priced based on quality but is considered pricier for Malaysia standard and choice between cooked ala carte menu which has a big range of rice/noodle dishes and buffet style pre-cooked self-service. Fully vegetarian. Tasty and fresh ingredients. Some dishes can be spicy/salty but the friendly and approachable owners can recommend based on needs.
