5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gonpachi in Asakusa is a fantastic izakaya with a beautiful river view! The atmosphere is lively, and the food is delicious, with a great selection of izakaya dishes—including many vegan options, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff are incredibly welcoming, greeting every customer with great enthusiasm when they enter and leave, which adds to the experience. If you want to enjoy the river view, keep in mind there are about 20-25 stairs to climb, and there’s no elevator. But it’s definitely worth it! Great food, great views, and amazing hospitality—highly recommend!

Amazing evening with delicious food and great atmosphere. We love this place and have returned several times during our trips to Tokyo. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in the world with some of the best dishes I’ve ever had. Yuuka served us last time and was super friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely come back.

A two story restaurant with good views of the river. Seems to be very popular with group tourists. Very friendly staff, good at English. Extensive Japanese menu with slightly above average prices, but good quality Yakitori ( grilled skewers of chicken), specialty the chicken wings. The beef was also excellent. A good place for lunch while visiting Asakusa.
