Wow, we have been meaning to visit for a while now and so pleased that we finally made it as it was well worth the visit. We went with the, ‘trust the chef’ option which was amazing. The food was beautifully presented and came out quickly. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. All in all a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back. Well done to all of the staff.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant during my 14-day trip to New Zealand, and it truly stands out as the best! The staff were super friendly, making us feel welcomed and valued from the moment we arrived. The ambience was delightful, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable meal. And the foods were absolutely amazing! Each dish was a flavor sensation that left us wanting more. I highly recommend this gem to anyone visiting—it's an experience you won't want to miss! I’m always lazy to write a review, but it’s definitely worth one.

It was my first night in Christchurch, luckily I found this restaurant for enjoyable dinner. Everything was great! If I come to Christchurch next time, I wish to come again

Almost exactly six months ago, my wife and I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant. It all started with a small mistake, because on the way back from downtown to our hotel, we looked at a few restaurants and considered which one we wanted to visit for dinner. However, when we later searched on Google Maps, we made a mistake and reserved a table at the “wrong” restaurant. What a stroke of luck that was! After laughing at our own absent-mindedness, we entered the very small restaurant and were warmly welcomed. We opted for the “Let us feed you” menu. I have since read reviews from other guests who said that the food did not meet their quality standards. I cannot share this opinion, because what we were served was a feast for the eyes and a great pleasure. Every single course was an experience, and overall, the evening was the culinary highlight of our trip to New Zealand. We have visited excellent restaurants in many countries on all continents and can say that this gem has no reason to hide behind Michelin-starred kitchens. The only downside at the end of a wonderful evening was that Gatherings apparently does not have an espresso machine. However, when I expressed my desire for an espresso, the waitress immediately left the restaurant to get me one from a neighboring espresso bar. Once again, many, many thanks to the owners and staff of Gatherings. It was a wonderful evening that I still fondly remember six months later.
