95 Victoria Street, Christchurch Central City, Christchurch 8013, New Zealand
Fortunately, this one is still there. Also in good condition. Sad for the house next door, this is uninhabitable by the cracks.
It is simply amazing how this clock survived the earthquakes. A fabulous piece of history to remain standing after all this time. It was good to see IMHO that it wasn't demolished like many historic buildings that have come down. However that raises another issue about demolishing old historic places which is not intended here. These words are just to say it is good we still have this clock.
Another historic landmark built in celebration of Queen Victoria
Small but ok
This monument has led a peripatetic existence following the rhythm of earthquakes and other occurrences necessitating its renovation restoration a re-erection over the years. Now ensconced on Victoria Street it's continued existence is a triumph of resilience. The Diamond Jubilee it commemorates us that of Queen Victoria
