This is my first time visiting this restaurant, and I absolutely love it! The ambiance beautifully captures the essence of a traditional Indonesian eatery, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels quite authentic. The food menu is extensive, boasting a wide array of choices that cater to all tastes. From spicy dishes for those who enjoy heat to milder options for those who prefer something less intense, there's something for everyone. Just a tip—if you're not a fan of spicy food, make sure to request the chili to be served separately, so you can enjoy your meal without any unwelcome surprises! While the prices are on the higher end, this is fairly typical for Indonesian cuisine across Melbourne. Overall, I would definitely give this place two enthusiastic thumbs up for its fantastic offerings and delightful atmosphere!is is my first time visiting this restaurant, and I absolutely love it! My partner and I were walking down the street when we came across this restaurant that piqued our interest. Since we are not familiar with Indonesian cuisine, we decided to give it a try. The place is well-located and has a friendly atmosphere. We ordered the beef ribs and chicken satay, and both dishes were well-prepared. The rice and egg were decent. Overall, we had a good experience, and the food was fairly priced compared to others place in the city.

Having to come from where the dish originates, I’ve tried ayam penyet a countless number of times. Stopped by D Penyetz in Melbourne’s Carlton district and gotta say it’s quite beyond my expectations for a foreign country to have. Though the chicken was a little more to the drier side, the kicap manis (sweet soy sauce) was able to complement the chicken and overall, it tasted great! Price is a little high but it’s uncommon to spot good Indonesian cuisines around here, worth a try though. Soto ayam would taste divine on a cold winter night here so definitely recommend!

I’ve been to their China town branch and we loved the spicy fish, so this time we tried this one at Lygon street. This one is good too but seating is a bit too congested. They have some seriously spicy options if you’re after spicy food. I’ll be going there again.

We’ve been loyal takeaway customers here for years — and it’s all about the Ikan Bakar Aroma Special. Always smoky, tender, and beautifully paired with their punchy sambal balado (perfect heat level for an Aussie palate). While the food never disappoints, the dine-in experience could be warmer — so after our first dine-in experience, we’ve always opted for takeaway and enjoy this favourite at home. The kitchen delivers — consistently, though.
