The Majestic Hotel, 5, Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Tasik Perdana, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
A great restaurant in the majesty hotel. The menu is quite small but the food really surprised me. The hainanese chicken was delicious. The staff and service was mostly great but one staff member always seems angry or annoyed whenever they came to our table. Maybe they were having a bad day. They overall it wouldn’t stop me from coming again if I stayed at the majesty hotel.
If a simple Hainanese Chicken rice cannot satisfy your tastebud, consider heading to Colonial Cafe in The Majestic Hotel KL. For just RM180++ you'll be treated to a 6-course meal aptly named Colonial Sampler. Located inside the historic Majestic Hotel KL, Colonial Cafe exudes that Victorian feel during British Occupation, with the interiors transported you back to the days where the British had their afternoon tea. White tablecloths that are rare scene in dining nowadays further enhanced the appeal of this cafe. Colonial Sampler ◾Amuse Bouche (Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball) - Poached Chicken , Aromatic Hand-pressed Chicken Rice Ball, Homemad3 Chilli and Fragrant Ginger ◾Starter (Classic Prawn Cocktail) - Fresh Shredded Lettuce, Chopped Cucumber, Spicy Cocktail Sauce. ◾Soup (Traditional Hainanese Boiled Beef Soup) but since I can't eat beef, they duly changed to mushroom soup for me. ◾Mid-Course (Baked Seafood Crab Shell) - crab meat, shrimp, snapper, salmon, seasoned breadcrumb, cheese mushroom sauce ◾Main (Hainanese Chicken Chop) - cracker crumb deep-fried chicken, garden peas, hand-cut fries, tangy spiced onion gravy ◾Dessert (English Trifle) - custard, sponge cake, berries, Chantilly cream Priced at RM180 (excluding prevailing service charge and tax), this marked the most expensive Hainanese atas meal that I had in my life.
Weekend is for high tea and piano in the background! Still love The Majestic for its colonial authenticity. Love the savory pastries though they can improve on the sweets and scones.
The sticky toffee pudding is outstanding, with a velvety smooth toffee sauce—on the pricier side, but well worth it. The trifle is enjoyable, though a bit too sweet. The ambiance is lovely, enhanced by live piano music.
Delightful culinary gem that offers not just a meal but an experience with tasteful decor.. nice piano music, very enjoyable
