I ordered the signature Bebek Goreng (Original Crispy Fried Duck), and additional Crackers. Duck is tender and skin is crunchy as expected. The chilli is good spicy! Sweet soy sauce is unlimited self-service. One issue I have is the relatively small amount of rice; I think more rice would have elevated the experience more. Crackers are generously presented (which end up helping with my hunger of more rice) and taste awesome too!
Good, comforting food served with fiery sambal. If you don't fancy the sambal that comes with the dish, there's a a condiment station where other sambals are served - sambal belacan, sambal ijo, sambal kicap. There's also treacly soy sauce that can be mixed with rice to cut the heat of the sambal. I personally love the shredded duck, but it can be a hit and miss on some days. The accompanying tempe, tau kwa, cucumber, tomato and blanched kangkong are barely enough - I get that some patrons may not finish these sides and will end up being wasted if larger portion is being served.
I don’t usually go for Indo food but the food here tasted really similar to the ones I’ve tried in Batam previously. The Ayam penyet was good but meat was slightly on the drier side! I think the beef bakso soup was really nice, very decent dinner spot if you’re craving Indonesian cuisine!
