Haiku review: Smashed chicken delight, a splash of Indo flavours and it just feels right. Truly one of Lucky Plaza’s gem. Dare I say one of Orchard’s best Indonesian casual dining options. While you’ll never go wrong with the staple Ayam Penyet, this place has a lot more to offer. Their Tahu Telor is divine; rich in flavour with crispy texture yet soft inside. The Ayam Bakar was also delightful. The only thing I didn’t fully get was the beef noodle soup, but mainly it’s because of my preconceived notion that such dishes should have a rich thick broth - whereas this had light rice noodles and a light soup base like Vietnamese Pho. Not saying it wasn’t good, it is! Just different from beef soup noodles that I’m used to. The place is decent, clean and not crowded. Do try it when you’re down at LP.
Decided to drop by during the lunch hour as there were seats available and seemed a good place to catch up. Tried the ayam Bakar - overall decent in taste but chicken portion seemed a bit small as compared to other shops. Good for small eaters.
