We enjoyed our stay over at Sumner Bay Motel for 1 night with our pet dog. The room was clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed, clean bathroom and kitchenette included. Our host Tony was very welcoming and friendly - we had a good chat with him upon our first meeting! Onsite parking was available right next to our room with no additional charge for this. If you are staying over with a pet, a $20 fee is charged per night so be sure to let the host know that you're bringing a pet along when making your booking. The motel is situated in close proximity to cafe's, driving distance to fuel stations and a few dog friendly parks.

On a full round the island trip, eight of us stayed here for a night in Sumner. Of all the accommodations thus far, this may have been one of the most pleasant. The rooms were clean. Well kept, well stocked, beautiful location and views. Easy walk to the beach. Beach. And perhaps one of the most kind and accommodating staffs I have run into in New Zealand. That's saying a lot. The folks here are pretty nice. I highly recommend this as a stay if you're here in Sumner, excellent people

We LOVE Sumner Bay Motel! Tony and Sophie were fabulous hosts who made sure we had the best of everything. Our room, with a balcony and great view, had a sophisticated urban vibe. Spotless, super comfy, thoughtful amenities, efficient little kitchen, well-lighted bathroom with perfect shower. A hop and a skip from the glorious Sumner beach and a variety of excellent eateries. We absolutely loved our stay here. Staff and owners were super friendly and hospitable. Super comfortable bed, cute cozy room. Our room had its own private balcony, great for a morning coffee to enjoy the sunrise. Close to the beach, shops and restaurants so prime location. Couldn’t rate this place higher, highly recommend. The amazing hosts are the stars of this place! You won't find friendlier, more generous or kind moteliers anywhere. My experience of the units found them clean, warm and comfortable and well-appointed. Situated perfectly... close to the beach, shops, restaurants and cafes. You won't regret your choice to stay here.
