452 Furunishicho, Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto, 604-8232, Japan
Although some reviews mention that the rooms in this hotel are relatively small, however, compared to other hotels in Kyoto within the same price range that I’ve stayed at, the room layout here is quite smart. The available space is utilised efficiently, making it easier to move around, and the integrated bathroom is also larger than those in typical business hotels in Kyoto. The facilities are modern, and the staff are very friendly. There are convenience store, two supermarkets, and several unique restaurants nearby, which is really convenient. The only drawback is that the hotel is situated between a two major stations—while the distance isn’t far, the location feels somewhat awkward. That said, the off-season rates make it a great value for money.
Great hotel overall. Not huge, typical for a Japanese style hotel however the service and amenities were good. The room was impeccable with thoughtful touches. Easy check in and check out process. If you choose to skip room service, they even give you some water and fresh towels on your door for the day.
I really liked this hotel! Specially for the price. The room was small but it did the job. The bathroom was nice and clean. The massage chair was a plus after a long day of walking. They even give you a pijama! My only complaint would be that the pillows were too hard. Other than that, I would totally recommend!
Hidden Gem amongst it all. Three nights here. Only thing it's missing is a bar. Rooms aren't big but your not in them much. 10 minutes walk to most things like the castle, main markets many bars and food outlets. 7-11 (ATM) across the road. Good breakfast selection (normally comes with the room)
On arrival, we were greeted by very friendly staff who helped us use the checking in machine. The rooms are not large, but Japanese standard. They are well appointed with blackout blinds, AC, a bath and fridge. There is a washing machine off the reception area, I think this was c. 400 yen. The breakfast was good and the breakfast staff friendly. The hotel is well located and we could walk to most places including the main underground station in around ten minutes. We would stay here again if we return to Kyoto.
