Rooms were clean, strange sulfur smell comes out of the bathroom drains in one of the 3 rooms we had. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I was not expecting the interior to look as good as it did given the location, which was not the worst but just not what I expected. Front desk staff spoke English and were very willing to help. One particular guy definitely gave a vibe of having some underlying issues which kinda created an "I really don't prefer him" vibe. He was intentionally difficult with an authentic grin. The place was worth the money and was within walking distance of great shopping and restaurants.

Location is very convenient regarding the distance to subway and landmarks. Room is small but cozy. Service is good. No card payment though.

Great value for price!! If you are looking for a clean bed in the middle of Shanghai - go there! It is somewhat older and not comparable to big hotel chains, but cheap, clean and top location. It maybe a little hard to find: entrance is on the road next to the bridge.

Stayed here for 4 days last week. Location is excellent for us, very close to the Bund and other tourist areas but sufficiently positioned to be quiet at night. Metro is a few minutes walk - Nanjing Road East. There's a Bao stall/shop on the corner just down the road. Good for breakfast. Leek and onion, sesame, were my favourites and they also had Custard for the Mrs - ¥2.50 Room had good ac/heating. There was audible noise from your neighbours, but not the street. It's compact but sufficient. Very helpful staff. Could easily stay again. Paid £33 night
