What a luxurious stay we had at the Park Hyatt in Kyoto!! The rooms were opulent, the amenities stunning, the attention to detail superb. We enjoyed both the Western and Japanese breakfast. It is worth the surcharge to experience the breakfast at least once. Get the yuzu tofu souffle with yuzu manduka honey and the chawanmushi steamed egg for the Western al la carte!!! We really appreciated the inclusive company car to Kyoto station, the free postage stamp mailing service and easy luggage shipping. My friend enjoyed the tiny onsen though it really can only accommodate one person at a time (area needs to be 5 times as big.....). FYI the gyms free weights max out at 10 kg. We also enjoyed the rotating flavors of bath salts in the room, the coffee/tea, and free exercise clothes though the pants are Japanese tiny so don't expect to fit if you aren't a size 2 The location was perfect to explore both day and evening activities. I recommend considering taxi if possible as the bus system is cheap but overly crowded.

Park Hyatt Kyoto (1 King Bed, Garden View 45 sq.m.) - One of the highest quality breakfast buffet; I can feel that every menu is prepared with a lot of attention!! - Beautiful garden in the hotel - Nice gym and bathhouse with cold/hot tubs, steam room, and sauna. - Complementary gym clothes and shoes. - Great location in the middle of walking streets near many temple sites and surrounding shops. - Valet for easy car parking - Big strawberry bowl as welcome gift - Special box of desserts on the third day - As a Hyatt Globalist, my brother and I were given free breakfast and my brother's room was upgraded to a 68 sq.m. Deluxe Room which was much nicer with a sofa and a Pagoda view.

This is such an amazing hotel. I have stayed at many Park Hyatt, Four Seasons, and other high end hotels. This property is unmatched. It is spot on themed with genuine Japanese architecture, gardens, ponds, etc. The soft lighting as if candle lit, wood everywhere. The staff is amazing, they make you feel special from check in to check out.

My nephew and I planned a trip to Japan, and staying at the Park Hyatt Kyoto was at the very top of our list – and for good reason! It turned out to be one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at ease. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Despite being a luxury hotel, the atmosphere felt intimate and personal – almost like being part of a family. What truly stood out was how every interaction with the staff left a lasting impression. Each team member we encountered was so genuinely kind and attentive – their friendliness and warmth made every moment special and memorable. Everything from A to Z was truly excellent. The rooms, the service, the food, the breathtaking location in the historic Gion district – all absolutely perfect. Park Hyatt Kyoto is more than just a hotel to us – it’s a place we would happily return to any time. If you’re spending time in Kyoto, staying here is a must. For us, there is no other hotel that compares. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team – we had such a beautiful time with you!

Truly one of my favourite hotels, ever. The rooms are beyond beautiful and decorated in natural materials - wood and marble. It was a true party for the senses. The quality of each component of the room was exquisite. The staff are all incredibly helpful, attentive and proactive. The views over Kyoto when you cough up for the pagoda view are really magical! I left very reluctantly as the room was like being in a dream or a really, really good movie. My only comment is that the bar is small and requires reservation, and the other main 'lounge' area is an extension of the reception. It would be cosy/atmospheric if there was a more casual bar of some sort that was also self contained (as opposed to the reception area).
