We recently stayed at Opero Hotel in Johor Bahru, and it was a fantastic experience! One of the standout features was the breakfast – they offered an impressive spread that catered to every taste. it was the perfect way to start the day! ?? A special shoutout goes to Mr. Sam, who made our breakfast experience even more enjoyable. He came over to our table with a warm smile and genuinely asked if we needed anything. His friendliness and willingness to accommodate our requests really made a difference. Thank you for a memorable stay! #OperoHotel #BreakfastGoals #ExceptionalService
Stayed 2 nights. Room was a nice size and clean. Full toiletries & slippers, tea/coffee, kettle, TV, safe, fridge, all are in working condition. It's a 7 min walk to the mall and plenty of eateries within walking distance. Walkways are partially covered so it's a hassle on rainy days. Just a few things I noted: 1. Day curtains could not close completely as there were quite a few empty curtain rings in the middle of the tracks. There's a 4-5 inches gap I think. 2. Bottom of the shower screen was not sealed and water was seeping out from the gap, making the floor mat completely wet. 3. Housekeeping staff left fresh clean towels on the luggage when they made up room on the 2nd day. Fresh towels should be left on the bed as the luggage is not clean having been through many hands and spaces. Overall a good stay and front desk staff were pleasant, polite and professional. Would come back again.
Room is good no complaints. What pleasantly surprised me was the breakfast buffet. They had fresh fruits juicer, the noodle bar had extensive variety of both in terms of types of noodles and ingredients, overall quality of food and the variety was awesome and the kind that you will probably take 2-3 breakfast mornings to try them all. I'm lucky I guess that I didn't experience the issues I saw in other reviews.
This was my first time staying at Opero Hotel, having previously stayed at St Giles just across the street. Overall, the experience was positive, with several highlights and a few areas that could be improved. The room was compact but sufficient for two people, and the bed was very comfortable, making for a restful stay. However, the water pressure in the shower was low, and the basin was choked, causing slow drainage. While the bathroom was clean, it showed signs of aging. The hotel offers a decent gym and pool, which is a nice bonus for guests wanting to stay active or relax. Its location is convenient, just a short walk to Mid Valley Southkey, and there is also a free shuttle service available. Guests with cars will appreciate the complimentary parking and availability of EV chargers onsite. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, with a more generous and varied spread than St Giles, offering good value and a satisfying start to the day. However, food handling hygiene needs improvement—I observed a staff member pick up food that had fallen onto the table and return it to the buffet display, which was concerning. In summary, Opero Hotel is a good-value option for short stays, offering a comfortable bed, useful amenities, and a strong breakfast offering. With some attention to bathroom maintenance and food hygiene practices, the overall guest experience would be significantly enhanced.
