8 Customs Street East, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010, New Zealand
This hotel is in a great location to explore Auckland. We were upgraded to a room with a harbour view. The room was compact, comfortably furnished and came with a window seat. The views were amazing and we were able to watch cruise ships come in and depart, yachts sailing on the waters, the sea ferries come and go etc. All staff were friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. The restaurant provided tasty meals and a comprehensive breakfast buffet. The chocolate hour was fun to attend. It was an easy walk to the ferry terminals, the marina, the hop on hop off bus and train station. Many cafes and restaurants were in the immediate vicinity and a number of mini supermarkets close by.
The location is spot on. Love the room decoration and spaciousness. The lighting and design feels luxurious yet warm and cosy. The room had great view that we can just sit there by the window and watch the cars go by at harbour bridge. Service when arrive and the waiting staffs in restaurant were really great and friendly! Very attentive and prompted to our needs quickly. Only downside were; Bed was too soft for my back and I’m having back pain after the stay. Need a lock for the bathroom door. When travelling with children and they keep opening the door when your are doing your business is not comfortable. No body shampoo in shower itself. The first checking out staff was friendly and helpful. We left our luggage there to go Queen at for a short while. When return, we had another staff at reception who gave me the impression that she has too many things to do and I’m a bit of a bother to her. Not a nice way to end a great stay. The valet parking was a bit chaotic. There could be a better system/method for this. If someone is in a hurry during peak time and it takes 30mins just to wait for the car to show up is not ideal.
Location is fantastic – was really easy to get around, super close to the shops and restaurants. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The chocolate hour was such a bonus – we all absolutely loved it. And the view from the restaurant was stunning. The kids had a fantastic time and are still talking about it. Definitely a great spot for a city getaway with the family.
It's so easy to get to & great views. Had my first chocolate hour which was an experience. The 'hot cross macarons' were sensational. Thought the room was in a great position at the end of the corridor and it would be quiet. Unfortunately the neighbors didn't think the same & their very loud entry (or exit) along with their incessant alarm at ridiculous o'clock was disappointing. The amenities & linen were fabulous as always.
A very friendly welcome was given to us upon our arrival by the staff member at the front desk. Parking was a little unclear. I sent an email but didn't get a reply in time for our arrival. The room was very clean and the view of the square and harbour was well worth the money.
