612番地 Azuchicho, Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, 600-8040, Japan
Our four-night stay here marked the beginning of our time in Kyoto. While the location is situated over 1.5 kilometers from Kyoto Station, the efficient and frequent City Bus services 4, 7, and 205 conveniently connect to numerous attractions along their respective routes, making it relatively easy to explore the city. Overall, our stay was generally pleasant and proceeded without any significant issues. Daily free coffee and green tea gives a good start to each day before setting off for the sightseeing. However, I must mention the unexpectedly high level of dust in our room, as evidenced in the attached picture. This unfortunately did impact my breathing and also accumulated on my camera equipment, including the lenses.
So far our stay has been good. The staff are great, the facility is very clean and well kept. The rooms are very. Bed and bathroom that's it so be mindful. If you are ok with sleeping on a firm mattress then the bed is fine. The pillow is a bit rough too lol but no fault the hotel. Just giving anyone with a bad neck a heads up. There is a 7-eleven next-door so it makes it really easy to grab a snack and drink at any time. You can bring your food and drink into the lobby area to enjoy (it's recommended) we have used the area a few times. My only complaint so far is the lanurdy service area. Not enough machine for the amount guests. Some guest were super rude and set they machine to full time. There was a back up on the dryers and it become very annoying to deal with so many others pushing to start they clothes. I think maybe there should be a rule of no more then the minimum amount of time. Small loads only. Some guests are not very kind and are not thinking of others. (this isn't your home, there are other people waiting) The location is fantastic. Walking distance of some pretty great spots. Loved walking down all the side streets. Some highlights: THISIS SHIZEN (ice cream bouquet shop), close to a few subway stations, and took more. Honestly, I recommend the hotel. I would stay again for sure.
I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Tavinos Kyoto! The interior design is absolutely delightful—colorful, playful, and full of charm. It really gave the whole place a fun, upbeat vibe. Having a 7-Eleven right on the ground floor was super convenient, and I loved grabbing discounted sushi from Fresco across the street just before closing time. There's also a bus stop literally right in front of the hotel, which made getting around Kyoto incredibly easy. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. My only small complaint is that the dryer takes forever—probably just needs the filter cleaned. But honestly, that’s a tiny issue in an otherwise amazing stay. Can’t recommend it enough ?? And the free "lockers" for the luggage are a huge help
