We stayed here for five nights from the 20th April. I see previous reviews noting how small the rooms are. Nonsense! It is Kyoto and no room is enormous. I am (solidly built) 6ft 5” and my wife and I were more than comfortable in the double bed provided. Reception staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We loved the living lobby. Rooms do operate with limited service but that’s fine - an unmade bed will not hurt you. Take the one minute to do it yourself! Leave towels and rubbish outside your door and it gets taken and swapped - Most hotels we stayed in throughout Japan operated in this way. Would recommend! ?

Very good location, right off of the busy street. Quiet stay, clean room, great service by staff. Depending on the night there was activities downstairs in the lobby. We met a Maiko and then we were able to practice Caligraphy with a master FOR FREE! Wonderful experience. Only downside was smaller room, but even that wasn’t too bad, as there were ample amenities provided and teas in the room. Stay was so great! We will use Hotel Resol for the rest of our time in Japan.
