1 Chome-6-1 Nishiikebukuro, Toshima City, Tokyo 171-8505, Japan
Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro was a fantastic stay. The room was spacious, spotless, and stocked with top-notch toiletries. Loved the coin laundry—could monitor machine status from the in-room TV app, and there was a microwave in the laundry room. Just a 5-minute walk to Ikebukuro Station, which connects to multiple subway lines—Shinjuku is only one stop away. Surrounded by shopping (Lumine, Tobu, Parco) and convenience stores (Lawson, 7-Eleven, FamilyMart). The airport limousine bus stops right at the door. Staff were kind, helpful, and professional. Service was excellent, and we scored a great rate via Japanican.com. Breakfast was decent but lacked variety for the price. Would love to return for a stay again.
The area is outside the hustle and bustle of Shibuya and Shinjuku. I love this area because it was busy but in its own way. There’s lots to do in this area but also very quiet. The hotel is amazing. The service and the staff were top notch. They go above and beyond to make you feel extra welcome and special. Love that they have the laundry room downstairs in the main floor and you can also keep up with the status of the washing machine you’re using. I would stay here if I ever visit Japan again.
We had a good stay at Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro. The best part is definitely the location—just 3 minutes from Ikebukuro Station, which connects to so many lines. Airport shuttle stops are nearby too, and there are plenty of convenience stores like 7-Eleven, Lawson, and Family Mart within walking distance. The room was clean and spacious enough, though with 3 beds there’s not much space left to move around. The coin laundry is super handy for longer stays, but the dryer isn’t great—so give clothes a day to dry in your room. Staff were really warm and helpful throughout our stay. The gym has limited access, which was a bit disappointing, and there’s no pool. Breakfast could’ve been better—no fresh fruits and not much variety for the price. Overall, we’d come back mostly for the amazing location and friendly service!
A good-located hotel near to Ikebukuro Station. Easy to find and navigate from. It’s a bit dated (in the rooms and overall feel) but that didn’t spoil our visit to Tokyo. Room very comfortable, good views from our high floor, great air conditioning and air filters. Large TV but few English-speaking channels. Bathroom good size. The service, however, fantastic with very helpful reception, bell and concierge. Would happily stay again
Metropolitan hotel is a relatively old hotel. However, it's level of cleaning and hospitality remaining unchanged since my first visit 25 years ago. I have stayed at Metropolitan hotel many times mainly because of its great location and convenient. Ikebukuro itslef is a great city to visit, both east and west sides. Foods, entertainment, easy access to all directions. The bus stop to airports is a big plus to me.
