1番地12 Wakicho, Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, 600-8834, Japan
Traditional style of Japanese hotel. I really love it!! It's also clean and quiet. There is a parking lot nearby. Good for hotel guest who arrived by car. Bus stop and convenience store are not far for walking. Kyoto station is 1.5km from the hotel.
Lovely old traditional houses are part of this accommodation. Not for those expecting privileges of modern living and or the modern capsule hotel type space. Very pleasant, especially when other guests honour the space. A sensitive house that amplifies every intent. One must be willing to tread very gently, walk extra quiet in order to not disturb others or the space as every step can be heard. And talk very softly if at all. A great waking meditation practice living space. I ended up feeling very comfortable when other house/roomies respected the space or was alone. There is assorted teas, coffee, a fridge, the reception building has a kitchen with stove, utensils and morning rice porridge, locally grown. Very cute bath shower room & toilets. Very simple. Tantami mats with sliding doors. Shoes off. Slippers to be worn in open areas, and no slippers or shoes on the tatami Mats or rooms. Seems like occasionally some guests couldn't be bothered or don't understand Japanese etiquette. I personally ended up loving it. The area has it's little gems which one must seek out. A park across the street, temples, hidden corners. An all you can eat buffet with loads of delicious salads just within a minutes walk. Bikes for rent.
