Stayed one night for work, rooms are clean and comfortable and beds were firm and nicely dressed. No issues with other neighbours, staff were helpful and polite. Would recommend as all units are on the flat and car parking is available at door. It is also quite close to restaurants etc. would stay again and recommend to others.

Arthur'S Court Motor Lodge

We stayed in the three room family apartment. It was very clean, modern, and well set out, with a TV in each room, and a large and functional bathroom. Super comfortable beds! Close to the city and very reasonably priced, this was the best accommodation on this quick trip around the south island.

Room 11.

Absolutely stunk as soon as we walked in , smelt like dirty feet and mould. The single bedroom smelt so disgusting we moved the mattress into the lounge to sleep.
The sheets were filthy and stained, pillows were dirty
The whole place was dirty, there felt like no clean place to sit. Chairs were ripped and had duck tape on them to cover holes. Carpet was held down with duck tape too.

It was so loud until 11.45 pm as the laundry room next door was in use. Sounded like aeroplane.

I try to keep my reviews positive but hard on this occasion. Room 11 was terrible, see photos. Nothing like the pictures on the website,  no way a 4 star motel, 1 star maybe. Smelt of mould, noisey, door didnt lock, carpet stained and ripped and duck taped down, doors broken off. $245 for 1 room for a night is not good. I did compkain at the time and not just leave it and write a poor review. Lady on the desk very nice, polite and friendly but no room change possible or refund offered. Sorry guys just not good enough, will not stay again and I'd avoid it if i were you until fully upgraded.

We recently stayed at your Motel and it was an unpleasant experience.
We feel like we have been fooled by your website. Stating you are a 5* hotel and turning up to a dirty bathroom, mouldy kitchen blinds, noisy and very dirty bathroom fan, broken cupboards, skirting boards very dusty. Broken shower which we got the entire bathroom floor wet. The mould and the dirt alone are very concerning, especially for people staying here with health issues already. I read your code of conduct on the wall of your office and you are betraying your own code of conduct.
Who Is responsible for an overall check after your cleaners have been in?
Why are you advertising 5* when it's only a 3*?
No Attention to detail: dirty washing up sponge and brush.  No salt and pepper, even 3* places have Salt&Pepper in their kitchens. Splashes of something ( don't want to know what) on the desk draw and chairs dirty. Shower floor dirty. The granite between the floor tiles are a 1* standard. The toothbrush cup holder hadn't been washed and somebody else's goop in it. In the event of our bathroom not being cleaned, my partner had wiped her face on a towel and got the last guests big black hair across her face! Hairs were all over the floor.  There is no love, no care. We are disappointed!  You don't deserve our hard-earned cash. When I came to your office to complain about the bathroom not being cleaned and the bin was full, you offered me 20 dollars back. This was insulting. I have paid for a clean space  You should have offered to clean it and instead you offer me money! instead, I had to tell you to clean it. This is THE worst customer service I have ever come across and I have travelled far and wide! You should not be running such an establishment. You are fooling good people who earn their money honestly.
so my question is, what are you going to do about it? maybe I should be asking for all of my money back for the trauma of using a dirty face cloth. it isn't like we haven't just gone through a pandemic. Where are your brains when it comes to hygiene?
I will be getting in touch with the Motel Association about your code of ethics and hygiene practices.
I will be very honest with my review online to what I have experienced. we are very disgusted.
2 positive things: Netflix and comfortable bed.
We are not horrible people, just pissed off and like to spend our money with deserving businesses.
